CELEBRATED HER 60TH BIRTHDAY BY WALKING 60 MILES FOR CHARITY
A Spina Bifida sufferer has celebrated her 60th by walking 60 miles for the hospital that saved her life as a newborn.
Carmel Proctor was born with a spine defect and had an eight-hour op at Sheffield Children's Hospital at two days old.
Now a medical secretary and grandma, Carmel, who has some disability on her left side, walked two miles a day for a month to raise £2,000 for the hospital.
She said: "I was not expected to live for 60-seconds never mind 60 years but I'm still alive and kicking."
