To get experience you need experience, it’s not a catch-22 if you do it for you.
I’ve designed logos, built websites, launched newsletters and podcasts, as well as managed social media accounts and organised an online event.
Clothing Conscious
What began as a university project where I built a news website and podcast which saw me use social media (link) to promote it, I realised I had a passion for the topic - slow fashion - so I proceeded to take the project in another direction and it is now a monthly newsletter. (link)
I began with researching who my competitors were as well as what the audience actually wanted. I decided the colour palette and designed two logos that I thought were reflective and asked my existing audience their opinion on both and went with the majority.
I built the website on wordpress and created multimedia content. This included features, news stories, business profiles, useful listicles and quizzes. I also interviewed sustainable fashion business owners and manufacturers to launch a podcast which I used Adobe Audition for.
When utilising social media I stuck to the colour scheme, created reels, carousels and audiograms, as well as audience engagement. To view more about my work in podcasting click here, or for web design, click here.
The Perspective
I set up The Perspective in 2019 while I was at university, to publish news and features I wanted to be published - I simply gave myself the platform to. The tagline was ‘there’s another side to every story’ as I attempted to stray away from the mainstream media topics or took a different take on things.
I used Wordpress and Elementor, as well as bought a theme for what I tagged a magazine-esque website. I created a logo then decided on the colour scheme which was a classic white and dark blue. Yoast SEO was my go to plugin before switching to All In One SEO.

Cause & Effect Consulting
I set up a multinational event for a former executive for the State of Illinois in which I organised the event, made sure everything ran smoothly and promoted the event on LinkedIn.
I had regular meetings to determine what the aim of the event was, posted on linkedin about what I learnt along the way in order to increase signups, and was the woman behind the set up. I used Mailchimp for email marketing, to send a confirmation, the even link and reminders.
